GO AI Plant — Privacy Policy
GO AI Plant
1. The Short Version
- Photos are the point of the App. A photo you take is sent to be analyzed, and the identification or diagnosis comes back. See section 2.
- Your garden stays on your device. Saved plants, diagnoses, care history, and reminders are stored in the App.
- Reminders are local. Care reminders are scheduled by iOS on your device. We do not need to know your watering schedule to deliver them.
- We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use your photos to advertise to you.
2. Information We Collect
What you send to identify or diagnose a plant
- The photo you take or choose, sent for identification or for diagnosis of disease, pests, and environmental stress.
- Any question or description you write for the AI plant assistant, together with the plant context needed to answer it.
- A device-scoped identifier that appears in our server logs, and a receipt confirming your subscription entitles you to the request.
Collected automatically
- Device identifier (IDFV). The vendor identifier iOS assigns to our apps on your device. It is not your name, and it resets if you delete all of our apps.
- Advertising identifier (IDFA) — only if you allow it. Collected solely when you tap "Allow" on the App Tracking Transparency prompt. If you decline, or never answer, no IDFA is collected.
- Push token — only if you allow notifications.
- Usage analytics. App opens, screens viewed, buttons tapped, onboarding steps, paywall views, purchases, and whether an identification or diagnosis succeeded or failed — together with device model, OS version, app version, and language.
- Subscription state. Whether you are on a paid tier, which tier, and whether you are in a trial.
What stays on your device
- Your My Garden entries — saved plants, their names, and your notes.
- Diagnosis history and the per-plant health record built up over time.
- Care guidance and reminder settings for watering, misting, fertilizing, rotating, pruning, repotting, and pest checks.
- The photos you save to a plant's record.
Location
3. How We Use It
- To identify the plant in your photo and return its details and growing conditions.
- To analyze visible disease, pests, and stress, and to return treatment and prevention guidance.
- To answer your follow-up questions in the AI plant assistant.
- To confirm purchases and subscription status.
- To diagnose failures — when a request fails, we record that it failed and why.
- To understand which features are used and to improve the App.
- To measure which promotions bring people to the App, where you have allowed tracking.
- To send notifications, where you have allowed them.
4. Photos and Camera
- Access is requested when you use it. The App asks for camera access the first time you photograph a plant, and for photo library access only when you choose an existing picture. It does not read your photo library in the background.
- What is sent. Only the single image you selected for that identification or diagnosis.
- What we keep. The image is held only while the request runs and is not written to a database. What you save to My Garden is saved on your device.
- Photograph plants, not people. The App is built for plants. Avoid submitting photos containing other people, faces, or documents.

6. Data Retention
- Identification and diagnosis requests are held only while the job runs and are discarded when it completes. Images are not written to a database.
- Server logs record the shape and outcome of each request — endpoint, timing, success or failure — for debugging and abuse prevention. Images are not written to logs.
- Analytics events are retained in aggregate for product and business reporting.
- Your garden is kept for as long as you keep it on your device, and no longer.
7. Your Choices and Rights
- Camera and photos. Deny or revoke access in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Camera or Photos. Identification and diagnosis stop working; the rest of the App continues.
- Notifications. Turn off in iOS Settings → Notifications. Care reminders stop being delivered.
- Tracking. Decline the tracking prompt, or turn it off later in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking. No IDFA is collected when you do.
- Delete your data. Deleting the App removes your garden, diagnoses, photos, and reminder settings from your device.
- Access, correction, deletion, portability. Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request a copy of the personal data we hold, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to certain processing. Contact us and we will respond as required by law. We may need the device identifier to locate any records.
