Musy AI — Privacy Policy
Musy AI
1. The Short Version
- There is no account. Musy AI has no sign-up, no login, and no password. We do not ask for your name or email address to use the App.
- Your finished songs stay on your device. We do not keep a copy of your music library.
- What you write is sent to be turned into music. Your description, lyrics, and settings go to our servers and on to the AI providers that compose the track.
- Voice recording is optional and only happens when you start it. See section 4.
2. Information We Collect
What you send to create a song
- The description or prompt you write, and any lyrics you write or ask the App to write.
- Your song settings — genre, mood, tempo, duration, instrumental or vocal, and vocal type.
- Any voice recording you make, when you record one (section 4).
- The melody you play in the Jam feature, sent as a short rendered audio take of the notes you tapped.
- A signed receipt confirming credits were debited for the request, and a device-scoped identifier that appears in our server logs.
Collected automatically
- Device identifier (IDFV). The vendor identifier iOS assigns to our apps on your device. It is not your name, and it resets if you delete all of our apps.
- Advertising identifier (IDFA) — only if you allow it. Collected solely when you tap "Allow" on the App Tracking Transparency prompt. If you decline, or never answer, no IDFA is collected.
- Push token — only if you allow notifications.
- Usage analytics. App opens, screens viewed, buttons tapped, onboarding steps, paywall views, purchases, credits spent, and whether a generation succeeded or failed — together with device model, OS version, app version, and language.
- Subscription state. Whether you are on a paid tier, which tier, and whether you are in a trial.
What stays on your device
- Your finished songs and their audio files.
- Generated cover art.
- Your song library, titles, and playback state.
- The identifier for your voice clone (an opaque id — not the recording itself).
3. How We Use It
- To generate the songs, lyrics, cover art, and voices you ask for.
- To count and debit credits, and to confirm purchases and subscription status.
- To diagnose failures — when a generation fails, we record that it failed and why.
- To understand which features are used and to improve the App.
- To measure which promotions bring people to the App, where you have allowed tracking.
- To send notifications, where you have allowed them.
4. Voice Recordings and Your Voice Clone
- Recording only happens when you tap record. The App requests microphone access at that point and does not listen in the background or at any other time.
- Two things a recording is used for: creating a voice clone that can sing your songs, and — if you choose to describe a song out loud instead of typing — transcribing that description into a prompt.
- Where the recording goes. It is sent to our servers and passed to Mureka, the provider that builds and stores the voice model. Mureka holds the resulting voice; our servers do not keep the recording after the request completes.
- What we keep. Only an opaque identifier for the clone, and only on your device. It is meaningless on its own.
- Removing it. Recording a new voice replaces the old one. Deleting the App removes the identifier from your device. To have the underlying voice model deleted, contact us at the address below and we will make the request to the provider.
- Only record your own voice. Recording someone else's voice without their permission is not allowed under our Terms of Service.
5. AI Processing and Service Providers
- Google — Gemini (lyrics and text) and Lyria 3 (music generation) — Privacy Policy
- Mureka — voice cloning, songs sung in your own voice, and melody-based Jam songs — Privacy Policy
- Apple — payment processing, subscription management, and push notification delivery — Privacy Policy
6. Data Retention
- Generation requests are held only while the job runs. Results expire 30 minutes after they complete and are held in memory, not written to a database — they are discarded when the job expires or the server restarts.
- Server logs record the shape and outcome of each request — endpoint, timing, success or failure — for debugging and abuse prevention. Audio is not written to logs.
- Analytics events are retained in aggregate for product and business reporting.
- Your songs are kept for as long as you keep them on your device, and no longer.
7. Your Choices and Rights
- Microphone. Deny or revoke it in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Microphone. Voice features stop working; everything else continues.
- Tracking. Decline the tracking prompt, or turn it off later in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking. No IDFA is collected when you do.
- Notifications. Turn off in iOS Settings → Notifications.
- Photos. The App only ever asks to add a cover image to your library. It cannot read your photos.
- Delete your data. Deleting the App removes your songs, artwork, and voice-clone identifier from your device.
- Access, correction, deletion, portability. Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request a copy of the personal data we hold, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to certain processing. Contact us and we will respond as required by law. Because there is no account, we may need the device identifier to locate any records.
